About the Project

“Signs of Love” is a thought-provoking installation that explores the emotional complexities of contemporary relationships through the visual language of street signage. By combining 2D heart sculptures with iconic road signs such as “No Entry,” “Wrong Way,” and “Under Construction,” the piece delves into the multifaceted nature of modern love. Hearts serve as metaphors for the fleeting nature of relationships, the hesitation to trust, and the slow healing process that often accompanies modern-day love. Meanwhile, the road signs symbolize boundaries, warnings, and navigational challenges.

The two larger hearts, standing at 4 feet tall, will be crafted from EPS foam with a hard
coating, each featuring a bas-relief of road signs embedded in their centers. In addition, twelve smaller hearts, each 1 foot tall, will be made from 3D-printed resin with a smooth finish, creating a striking contrast in both material and scale.

“Signs of Love” aims to engage diverse audiences, particularly the youth, offering them a meaningful opportunity to connect with art’s therapeutic power. The exhibition encourages dialogue around how our perceptions and experiences of love have shifted in response to societal changes, technological innovations, and personal journeys.
