About the Project
Field of Interaction unfolds as an immersive landscape at Interior Design Show 2026, taking place January 22–25. The installation converges art, design, and human presence into a single living organism, forming a collective space for engagement and exchange. Thin vertical threads shape airy petal-like structures, each symbolizing the fragility and necessity of human connection.
Within these structures, individual narratives intertwine, generating a shared field of collective interaction. At the center of the installation stands a rock-like bar: a sculptural object with a natural, irregular geometry. Conceived as a “social rock,” it functions as the conceptual and physical anchor of the project — a place where the fluidity of threads finds grounding and conversation naturally emerges.
The bar invites visitors to pause, gather, and engage in shared exchange. On both sides beneath the petal structures are the Embrace of the Dune armchairs. Their forms recall sand dunes — visually soft yet structurally solid. These spatial “shelters” create intimate zones for grounding, dialogue, and the formation of new connections.
The contrast between ethereal petals and the monumental bar mirrors human relationships: fragility requires foundation, and foundation gains meaning only through interaction. Inspired by Nicolas Bourriaud’s theory of relational aesthetics, Field of Interaction transforms viewers into participants, weaving their own presence into the collective field. Together, the bar and armchairs form the heart of this living structure: a point of encounter, shared presence, and emerging social landscape.
The project is crafted entirely from eco-friendly materials, including cotton cords, recycled polystyrene, and metal tubing, employing sustainable technologies throughout its construction.
“For Interior Design Show 2026, we wanted to create a collective space that brings together people of different perspectives and styles, encouraging dialogue, interaction, and the exchange of ideas,” say Yury Goncharov and Alina Tacmelova.
