Sculptural Column for the TIFF Tribute Awards

About the Project

Created for the TIFF Tribute Awards 2026, this sculptural installation was designed for the event presented by Rolex.

The design moves away from traditional architectural geometry, using soft, organic forms with an almost bionic quality. Flowing surfaces wrap around the central column like ribbons or petals, intersecting and opening as they rise to create a sense of continuous movement.

A restrained palette of pearlescent white and warm gold enhances the sculptural character of the piece. The pearlescent surfaces subtly respond to changes in ambient light, while the gold detailing introduces warmth and a ceremonial quality.

Integrated lighting follows the curves of the structure, emphasizing its geometry and transforming the appearance of the installation as it is viewed from different angles.

Balancing sculpture, light, movement, and organic form, the installation was conceived as a contemporary ceremonial centerpiece for one of TIFF’s signature events.
